We began the day working on creating some new sentences using our figurative language skills so that we might better understand how to make our writing.
"The pencil walked along my paper." (personification)Sydney
"My dad is as strong as a gorilla!" (similie) Julian
"Splash, went the rain drop." (onomatopoeia) Aiden
"Zoom went the airplane!" onomatopoeia) Wyatt
"My Mom makes magnificent macaroni." (alliteration) Jayde
"I'll see you when pigs fly!" (idiom) Henry
After that we continued our hard work on completing our art projects by transforming our six room poem onto our actual drawings...they look amazing!
Both grades continued their work in patterns.
We finished our day off with exploring the wonderful world of Telescopic Text which allowed us to build the most detailed sentences/paragraphs ever!
Student Led Learning Walks offer you and your child(ren) an opportunity to glimpse a snapshot of what “writing to communicate and represent” looks like at every grade level across Cranston School with your child as the guide.
